Hours, Resources, Policies and Procedures

Hours

  • Monday - Thursday 8:15 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.
  • Friday 8:15 am - 2:45 p.m.

Library use during class time

  • Individual students may use the library, room permitting, with a signed, dated pass from a classroom teacher or administrator
  • Groups of students may use the library under the supervision of a teacher, if pre-arranged and space permits

Policies and Procedures

All school rules apply in the library.

  • No food or beverages
  • No cell phone use during class periods
  • Keep conversations low and be respectful of other library users
  • Use of library computers is governed by the LKSD Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), Each student who wishes to use a computer must have a LKSD AUP on file with the office, signed by parent/guardian and student.

Procedures

  • Students using the library should present their pass and sign in at the circulation desk.
  • To access the library catalog, click on the "library catalog" icon on any library computer, or on BRHS website link under "Quick Links"
  • To access e-books, please see the librarian for your login information and directions
  • Please check with librarian before using library computers

Policies

Books

  • Students may check out up to 5 books
  • Books are due in two weeks and may be renewed if there are no holds
  • Students may not check out additional books if they have 2 or more books overdue
  • Students are not charged for overdue books. Students are responsible to pay fines for lost or damaged books. Overdue notices are regularly sent to students' homerooms, and will be sent home at the end of each quarter. Bills for missing materials will be sent home at the end of each semester.

E-books

  • E-books can be downloaded to i-phones or i-pads, or a personal or library kindle. E-books automatically return in two weeks and kindles check out for two weeks. Students must sign a Kindle Borrower Agreement.

Computers

  • Computers are available to all students who have an Acceptable Use Policy, signed by their parents and on file with the office.
  • Printers are to be used for school-related projects only
