E-Books

Students can download a selection of books from our e-book program, either to their own device (computer, ipad, phone, etc.) or to a borrowed kindle. A limited number of kindles are available for two-week checkout to eligible students. E-books automatically return in two weeks, so you never have to worry about fines or overdue notices!

  • Read on your phone or i-pad with the Overdrive app
  • Read on your computer without the app
  • Read on a library kindle
  • Read on your own kindle

Digital Library

To check out an e-book for downloading to your own computer:

  1. Obtain your login information (library card number) from the librarian.
  2. Go to http://lksd.lib.overdrive.com and log in. You will use your library card number for the log in ID.
  3. Search for a book! You can search by category, title, keyword or reading level.
  4. Once you have a book you want to read, click "Borrow."
  5. Then click "Read Now."

To check out a book on another device (iphone, ipad, etc.)

  1. Download the Overdrive Media app
  2. Identify which library you want to use: search for Bethel Regional High School
  3. Obtain your login information (library card number) from the librarian.
  4. Log in. You will use your library card number for the log in ID.
  5. Search for a book! You can search by category, title, keyword or reading level.
  6. Once you have a book you want to read, click "Borrow."
  7. Choose the e-pub option.
  8. Read!

To check out a book for reading on a library kindle:

  1. Obtain your login information (library card number) from the librarian.
  2. Go to http://lksd.lib.overdrive.com and log in. You will use your library card number for the log in ID, and leave the password field blank.
  3. Search for a book! You can search by category, title, keyword or reading level.
  4. Once you have a book you want to read please bring the title to the librarian and she will load your book onto your borrowed kindle.
  5. Read!

You can also read an e-book on your own kindle.

Follow the instructions above to find a book, then click "borrow" and then choose the kindle option. You will be directed to sign on to the Amazon account associated with your kindle to complete the download. Don't worry-your Amazon account will not be charged.
