LKSD Media Camp is an annual workshop for LKSD students who want to explore media and journalism.

This year's camp brought students from Mekoryuk, Mertarvik, Akiuk, Kongiginak, Kwethluk, Nunapitchuk, and Nightmute to Bethel March 14-18, 2024, to learn live streaming, photography, photo editing, video editing, interviewing, and more.

Camai dancersThis year our students were responsible for producing the main live stream for the Cama-i Dance Festival which had over 7,000 views and over one hundred shares. You can find the videos on the Southwest Alaska Arts Group Facebook page.

Student photos of the dance festival, thought to be the largest gathering of Yup'ik people in the world, are available on the LKSD Journalism Facebook page.

Many thanks to our instructors this year, Almario Pahunang, Jr., and Katie Basile.
